My name is Gina Moon. This will be my 11th year at Rocklin Academy Gateway. This year I will be using my passion for the arts teaching Art 1 to seventh and eighth graders in our middle school.  I will also be using my heart for raising student voice to support our student leaders.  I have been an educator for twenty-four years. I received a multiple subject teaching credential, as well as my Art credential from Sacramento State University. I have taught Fourth Grade, Sixth Grade, Seventh Grade, High School, and K-6 grade Art.   I am a passionate teacher who believes in the Core Knowledge model and the benefits it holds for our students, families, and teachers.

 

I was born and raised in Sacramento and have resided in Roseville now for over twenty years. I have been married for 26 years and have two wonderful boys, Ethan (21) and Noah (18). Ethan is attending Davis studying Chemical Engineering and Noah is at Cal Sate Fullerton studying Business Marketing. In my free time, I enjoy creating art and being outdoors with my friends. I enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, exploring, and being anywhere where there is water. 

 

I can't wait to see what this year has in store. I look forward to working closely with our middle school team and the amazing families that make up our school community. I am a firm believer that building amazing connections produces the best results. Here is to a fabulous year!
