Hello, my name is Kate Denisevich. Students call me Ms. Kate. I am excited to be the counselor for Rocklin Academy Gateway. I am passionate about supporting students in their academic, career, personal and social growth. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from California State University, Sacramento.
I believe that every student deserves equitable access to rigorous curriculum and opportunities for self-directed personal growth. I work in collaboration with other school personnel to create a positive learning environment for all students.
As a school counselor, I strive to meet students’ needs by using a comprehensive school counseling program. I promote growth and development by addressing students’ concerns in individual sessions, as well as creating support groups, using classroom guidance lessons, consulting with teachers and parents, and collaborating with our school staff, administration, and community.
I enjoy getting to know the students and families, and connecting them with support systems in our school and community. As a parent myself, I understand firsthand the issues involved in raising a family. Parents and guardians play an important role in their children’s success and well-being.
Students and parents/guardians are welcome to sign-up for an appointment anytime!
I look forward to meeting you!
