My name is Rachael Kern, your students will know me as Mrs. Rachael, and I am thrilled to begin my second year as the Elementary School Counselor at Rocklin Academy Gateway, serving students from Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade. I received my Baccalaureate in Child Development with a minor in Counseling from California State University - Sacramento; and my Master of Science in Education, School Counseling from University of the Southwest. I have two elementary kiddos of my own, Lincoln is 10 and Emery is 9. I spend the majority of my time chasing them and all their fun and activities, but wouldn’t have it any other way.

I love being part of a school community where I can help students develop confidence, resilience, and positive relationships while creating a safe and welcoming environment for all. It is a joy to support students as they learn, grow, and discover their unique strengths each day. I am passionate about helping students feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive both in and out of the classroom. I have eight years of experience as a school counselor serving students in all grade levels, and have had the privilege of building meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff, while supporting the social-emotional and academic growth of students and am honored to continue doing so as a GATOR!
