Ekegren Music Teacher
Entering her third year at Rocklin Academy Gateway, Danae Ekegren serves as one of the school's Music Instructors. Her programs include General Music for 4th grade, choir for students in grades 5–8, and a Musical Showcase experience for 7th and 8th graders that encourages creativity, collaboration, and performance excellence.
Mrs. Ekegren loves teaching music because of its ability to bring people together and create a strong sense of community. Through the Arts, students form positive connections and learn to express themselves in meaningful ways. Music complements all areas of learning, helping to create a well-rounded educational experience. She is continually inspired by the progress and personal growth her students achieve throughout the year.
Danae graduated with honors when she received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Montana State University. She has 19 years of experience over her music education career. Mrs. Ekegren has developed a variety of music education curricula in both instrumental and vocal settings ranging throughout TK - 12th grades.
Danae is happily married to her husband, Brent Ekegren. They have 4 daughters who are currently establishing their lives in various states. Therefore time with family is extremely important. They always look forward to being with loved ones in their home state of Montana. She thoroughly enjoys history and desires to travel to as many places as possible.
"If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music." - Albert Einstein
