Kimberly Oronos, SLP
My name is Kim Oronos (or Mrs. O. as my students call me), and I am one of the Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) here at Rocklin Academy Gateway, serving students from elementary through middle school. This will be my 10th year as a pediatric SLP and my 3rd year as part of the Rocklin Academy Gateway special education department servicing this wonderful school community.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Missouri State University and my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Nebraska. I have extensive experience working with students from preschool-high school in both the general education setting and special day classrooms. My diverse experience has equipped me with the skills to address various communication challenges, including articulation, fluency, voice, expressive/receptive language, and social pragmatic skills.
My greatest areas of expertise include articulation and social language (pragmatic skills). Whether it's helping a student pronounce tricky sounds more clearly or guiding them in understanding social cues and conversational skills, I am passionate about tailoring therapy to each child’s unique needs and celebrating their progress along the way.
I absolutely love working with students and strive to make each therapy session engaging, supportive, and enjoyable. My goal is not only to help children improve their communication skills but also to build their confidence and help them become effective communicators in both academic and social settings.
I look forward to collaborating with our families, teachers, and staff to ensure that every student has the tools they need to thrive. I am excited for another amazing year at Rocklin Academy Gateway and seeing the progress our students will make!
