Hello! My name is Kimberly Velasquez and I absolutely love teaching at Gateway! I have been at Gateway since 2019, first as a long term substitute, then as a 3rd grade teacher. Last year was my first year in 4th grade, which included a maternity leave, so I am thrilled to dive into a full year! Over the past few years, I've learned so much and can't wait to experience another year of teaching & learning. :)

I'm originally from Tracy, CA and moved to Rocklin, CA to attend William Jessup University, where I received my Bachelor's in Liberal Studies and multiple subject teaching credential. It's been such a cool experience for me to end up working at such a great school that is down the street from my college!

My husband, Manny, and I are celebrating 5 years married this year! This past January, we had our baby boy, Mateo, and are enjoying all of the new experiences that parenthood brings. :) Since we are both not originally from this area, we love to explore around the Sacramento area to find new places and restaurants. I also love to spend time with friends & family, travel, read, watch movies, and go to see musicals any chance I can. 

I am looking forward to meeting your family, making meaningful connections with your kids, and watching them learn & grow throughout the year. My #1 priority is for students to feel that they are in a safe, loving environment where they are heard, supported, & accepted. Here's to an incredible year in 4th grade! :)
