Hello, my name is Jenifer Chavez, this will be my ninth year teaching at Rocklin Academy Gateway and I am thrilled to be teaching Kindergarten!  I am so excited to meet the newest Gateway students and their families.

After seeing the joy of learning through the eyes of my own children, I knew I wanted to make a positive impact on the lives of students. So, I finished up my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education while my girls were little and went on to earn my teaching credential at National University.

I was a Transitional Kindergarten teacher during Gateway’s inaugural year and a Kindergarten teacher for the last eight years here at Gateway.  My previous teaching experiences include 3 years of teaching pre-kindergarten at a local Christian preschool as well as a year of substitute teaching various grade levels in the area.

My husband Brian and I have called Roseville our home for over 25 years.  We have two girls known as Ali & KK.  Alison will be a sophomore and Kaitlyn will be starting her first year of college at Sierra College.  You will find my family spending time with the “baby” of the family, our golden retriever taking him everywhere we go!  In the summer we enjoy spending time on the lake, wakeboarding, wake surfing, and soaking in the sun.  I enjoy decorating my home, reading, and watching HGTV when I have some downtime.

Kindergarten is an exciting time for parents and students. I hope to instill the love of learning through a predictable, fun, and engaging learning environment, where mistakes will be made, expectations will be high and students will thrive!
