Hi there! My name is Hayley Cates and I am grateful to be returning to the 2nd grade team at Rocklin Academy Gateway. This year, I am most excited to continue partnering with parents and support all my students with achieving at high levels. I feel blessed to have this opportunity to learn and grow as an educator in such a warm and caring environment.

I am originally from Sacramento and graduated from Sacramento State with a degree in Kinesiology. After that, I received my multiple subject teaching credential from Cal State Teach during the peak of COVID-19. Staying in the field of child education, I have been teaching swim lessons for 8 years now and love every minute of it. In the past I have worked various positions, but I have always been drawn to elementary education.

In my free time I enjoy any form of exercise and traveling internationally with my partner of eight years. When I return from a trip, I look forward to spending quality time at home with my cats.
