Hi, my name is Aimee Frey. I am excited to be teaching 4th grade at Rocklin Academy Gateway again this year. I majored in English Education with a TESOL certificate (Teachers to Speakers of Other Languages). I also have a strong science background having taken classes in biology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, inorganic and organic chemistry, as well as physics. While at California State University, Chico I was chosen to be a part of the TRIAD Project which enabled me to work with my cooperating teacher and a specialized science professor to create an NGSS (Next Generation Science Standard) unit which has been published and presented at a symposium. Before moving to Rocklin I taught in Paradise, CA. I am looking forward to using my diverse background of study and the passion I have for teaching children this year!

Apart from my academic life I was born and raised in Paradise, California and moved to Rocklin four years ago to be closer to my family.  I have an incredible family whom I love to spend time with. My sisters are both teachers as is one of my brother-in-laws. The other brother-in-law is a mechanical engineer. I also have 5 nieces and two nephews. I love being a part of their lives and watching them grow and learn. When I am not teaching you will find my nose in a book, spending time with my sweet family, baking,  or traveling to new locations.

I am so blessed to be a part of the Rocklin Family of Schools and to be partnered with such amazing families and fellow teachers to help each child achieve their full potential and academic success. I am passionate about teaching and love seeing children learn and grow. My goal as a teacher is to develop and prepare children to become passionate lifelong learners that enjoy the journey that it takes to learn something new.
